International Day of Education

Education is a human right.

Not an option. Not a privilege.

On January 24, the world marks the International Day of Education.

It is a reminder that education is a public good and a shared responsibility.

According to UNESCO, 250 million children are out of school, and 763 million adults remain illiterate.

This is not about a lack of talent or willingness to learn.

It is about systems that fail to reach those who need them most.

In Madagascar, we see this reality every day.

Children are curious, motivated, and ready to learn.

Access to education, however, is often fragile.

Our supporting education is not a side activity.

It is part of how we understand responsible, long-term business.

In 2026, our focus will be on strengthening education where it matters most.

Improving basic learning environments.

Supporting children’s ability to stay in school.

Working together with local communities and educators.

These efforts are not about visibility.

They are about responsibility.

Because without inclusive and equitable education, there is no sustainable development, no equality, and no future built to last.

International Day of Education. January 24.
